
In the beginning of the event the rector of the Saint Atanaz Greek Catholic Theological Institute, László Odrobina greeted the audience on 16th April 2024. Subsequently Tibor Remias, the director of the Josa Andras Museum welcomed the benefits of the cooperation between the two institutions. During the event, the 120 year old copy of the Asperzorium from Beszterec was displayed in the permanent exhibition of the Greek Catholic Museum. The original artwork dates back to the 11th century.
During the rest of the day the guests could listen to three fascinating lectures. The first was hely by Kiss Etele, the museologist of the Hungarian National Museum, who is the researcher of this topic, area and this specific artwork. Then we could listen to Németh Péter who was the director of the Josa András Museum at the time of the discovery of the aspersorium. Int he end Mohácsi Endre had a lecture on the history of the archeological depertament of the Josa András Museum, and how the aspersorium form Besterec got the National Museum.
